Summer Camp Mission/Vision
The Facilities
Camp Y-Noah offers a unique combination of safe, comfortable and modern facilities while maintaining the natural beauty of the environment. All overnight campers sleep in cabins (except those out on a trip) and have access to fully plumbed showers and restrooms. We take pride in out state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor equestrian center, high and low ropes courses and dining hall. At the same time, we think one of the best natural features of our camp is its 32-acre lake, Lake Noah, where all the campers enjoy water activities at its fully equipped lakefront.
American Camping Association (ACA) Accredited
Camp Y-Noah is in compliance with the 300 national health, safety and program quality standards required by the ACA.
The Staff
At Camp Y-Noah, we hire staff members from all over the country and around the world to build a camp based on the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith. Our staff is chosen using three simple standards: a strong background working with children, a desire to have fun with kids, and a firm belief that every child counts. These values are underscored in everything we do at Camp Y-Noah, and our staff members make our camp the special place it is.
Our entire staff goes through an intense training program where they are certified in CPR/first aid and drilled in all safety and emergency procedures. We work hard to ensure our staff is prepared to care for your child.
Financial Assistance
We want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience the wonders of summer camp. Each year volunteers, board members and staff members reach out to the community to raise support for our Gateway Program, which last year enabled more than 240 children to come to camp regardless of their ability to pay. If you would like more information about sending a child to camp or how to receive financial assistance, please call the camp office at 330-896-1964.
Health and Safety
While Camp Y-Noah is focused on providing a fun experience for all campers, we never forget the importance of health and safety:
- To assure your child's safety, we require health screenings, shot records, and a health form completed by a physician for each camper.
- We have a nurse on duty and a physician on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for medical emergencies.
- Our onsite health lodge is equipped to ACA standards and prepared for all minor incidents.
- All of our staff members are certified in first aid and CPR.
- All camper activities are well supervised.
- Lifeguards are on duty for all waterfront activities.
- Rules for program safety equipment (lifejackets, helmets, safety harnesses) are ACA approved and strictly enforced.
The YMCA's Mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all, and Camp Y-Noah's mission is the same.
We strive to provide our campers with a summer they won't forget with great counselors, fun programs and great activities. Learn more about what our campers get to experience by clicking on the following links:
