  1. How many school staff or adult chaperones are required with our group?

At Camp Y-Noah we require one adult chaperone with each teaching or activity group to assist instructors with supervision of participants and to manage any discipline or first aid requirements. Supervision from chaperones is also required whenever groups are in cabins, during meals and during free time periods.

  3. Should we have our activity groups separated before we arrive camp?

Yes, it is a good idea to divide your group into activity groups of 10-16 students. Cabin groups of no more than 13 (cabins sleep a total of 14) will also need to be determined before you arrive. Cabin groups can also be table groups for meal times or you can make separate table groups if you prefer. It also works well to name these groups and for participants to know which group they belong to before they arrive at camp. Your groups will also be required to assist as "hoppers" to set up the dining hall before each meal. It is a good idea to have a schedule made up of who is hopping and when before arriving to camp.

  4. Do we need to bring a nurse?

It is not a requirement that you bring a nurse to camp, but you will need to allocate an adult member from your group who is first aid certified and will be responsible for dispensing medications and first aid to your group. Camp Y-Noah staff are restricted in providing first aid to groups.

  5. Are there any special camp rules that our group needs to know about?

At Camp Y-Noah we live and work under the YMCA character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith. We ask that groups incorporate these values into their stay. Any rules that exist for the group in their usual environment will also be expected here at Camp Y-Noah. Beyond that we ask that group members respect the following guidelines:

    • Stay out of buildings other than their own cabins—unless with adult supervision.
    • Cars at camp need to be parked in the main parking area—except during unloading or loading.
    • Campfires are permitted only in designated campfire rings.
    • Many of our staff live here at Camp Y-Noah. Please respect the beautiful, natural environment that makes Camp Y-Noah so special.
