Outdoor Education Goals

The goals of YMCA Camp Y-Noah’s Outdoor Environmental Education Experience are:

  1. To enable students to understand and experience the relationship between themselves and the natural environment, and their roles as stewards.
  2. To strengthen social relationships between:
    1. Teachers and students
    2. Students and their peers
  3. To give each student a sense of independence and self-identity.
  4. To give all students a chance to succeed in a non-graded environment.
  5. To encourage each student to become more aware of his/her senses.
  6. To foster an attitude of inquiry in the student.
  7. To encourage openness and active participation in outdoor activities.
  8. To promote the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
